From the Exposome to Artificial Intelligence: Building the Future of Health Security in Algeria

Professor Kamel BOUKHALFA is currently Head of the Research and Foresight Division at the National Sanitary Security Agency (NSSA), where he is responsible for defining and leading research activities within the agency. In 2023, he served as Director of the Research Center on Scientific and Technical Information (CERIST). Prior to that, he held the position of Deputy Director in charge of External Relations and Communication at the National Higher School of Artificial Intelligence (ENSIA), where he played a key role in its establishment as a founding working group member. He began his academic career at the University of Laghouat, where he served as an Assistant Professor from 2002 to 2008. Professor BOUKHALFA built most of his academic career at the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB), where he was a faculty member from 2008 to 2021. During this period, he held several academic and scientific responsibilities, including: head of the doctoral program in Computer Science, head of the Master’s program in Big Data Analytics and member of the USTHB Digital Transformation Commission. His operational expertise is highlighted by his successful leadership of major projects, notably as Project Manager for the design and implementation of the Centralized Statistical Database for the Insurance Sector. As a researcher, Professor BOUKHALFA is a recognized specialist in data science and decision support systems. He is the author of more than 90 scientific publications, with over 2,838 citations (2026) and an h-index of 18. He has supervised around 10 PhD theses, 7 Magister students, and approximately 40 engineering and Master’s students. He has also led several national and international research projects (PRFU, CNEPRU, PHC Tassili). A Full Professor since 2017, holding both a Habilitation to Supervise Research (HDR) and a PhD in Science, Professor Kamel BOUKHALFA combines strong scientific expertise with a strategic vision, making him a respected researcher and academic leader recognized by his peers.

Pr. Larbi BOUBCHIR

Feature Engineering in Biomedical Data Analytics: Overview, Challenges and Applications.

Larbi Boubchir is a Full Professor of computer science at the University of Paris 8, France; within LIASD research laboratory. Before joining the University of Paris 8, he was a researcher at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), France, and then he held a teaching-research fellow position at Northumbria University at Newcastle, UK. His research interests include biometrics, artificial intelligence, computer vision, artificial learning, feature engineering, biomedical signal processing, image processing, and brain-computer interface. He has authored and co-authored more than 100 publications. He has served as a review committee member, technical program committee member, organizing committee member, steering committee member, area chair, program chair, workshop chair, technical program chair, and general chair, for many international conferences. He serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Access journal, CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, Journal of Biomedical Research, Bioengineering, and Emerging Science Journal. He is also an Editorial Board member for the Journal of Applied Computing and Informatics, Cyber Security and Applications, and BMC Biomedical Engineering. He organized several special sessions and workshops at several international conferences. He is also the organizer and chair of several international workshops including the international workshop on Machine Learning for EEG Signal Processing and the International Workshop on Deep Learning for Biomedical Big Data Analysis. He serves, has served, as Guest Editor of special issues for many journals. Prof. Boubchir is a Senior Member of IEEE.

The Augmented Doctor in Real-World Conditions: From Fuzzy-Logic Blood Pressure Monitors to AIoT Devices.

Professor Chellali BENACHAIBA is a former University Professor, researcher, and trainer of Ph.D. Students in Artificial Intelligence. His research interests are artificial intelligence and renewable energies, control and optimization. He was an engineer at the national hydrocarbon company SONATRACH; Algeria. He was an engineer at Télé Diffusion d’Algérie, Algeria. He was a research Professor at the TAHRI Mohamed University of Béchar, Algeria. He was a guest artificial intelligence trainer at Universities, Algeria. He was visiting Professor at IREENA, IUT of SaintNazaire, University of Nantes, France. He was a guest artificial intelligence trainer at ENSAT School in Titouan, Morocco. He was a guest trainer in artificial intelligence at ENIS in Sfax, Tunisia. He is a speaker and trainer of Ph.D. Students on the implementation of artificial intelligence in intelligent control, renewable energies, intelligent optimization, Machine Learning and Deep Learning at Universities.

Pr. Dalila CHERIFI

Artificial Intelligence, Signal Processing, and Computer Vision for Medical Image Analysis and Healthcare Applications

CHERIFI Dalila is a Professor and Doctor in Electronics, with a specialization in Image and Signal Processing at the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, University of Boumerdes. She got her HDR(Habilitation to Direct Research) from the same university and obtained her PhD from Telecom-Paris (Paris-Tech) in France in 2005. As an expert in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, and information retrieval, she applies her knowledge to various fields, including biomedical and biometrics applications with a particular emphasis on anomalies detection and classification. She has authored numerous research papers and articles in prestigious international journals and books, delivered many conferences and workshops, and received multiple awards and recognitions for her contributions to research and innovation.

To ensure a smooth peer-review process, please adhere to the following guidelines:
Submission Format: Papers must be written in English and formatted according to the Springer Nature template (single-column). The length of the paper should be no more 12 pages, including figures and references.
All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not currently under review by another conference or journal. All papers will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process and a plagiarism check.
“Authors are requested to submit a blinded version (no author names) for the initial review phase. The final camera-ready version will require the full names and affiliations according to the Springer template.”

  • Accepted & Selected papers will be published in MIDE2026 Conference proceedings.
